Why can't you smell your own funk?

We can all smell B.O. on someone else....heck, I've been around some that you could smell in the next zipcode....but why is it that we can't smell the O on our own B?......Not unless you get REEALLLY funky, at least. Not that I ever get funky myself, just speaking from what my friends have told me....
