Does the borg cube get it's inspiration from the description of the "new jerusalem" in the bible?

No, the Borg cube is inspired by the Frankfurt School Marxist theories of the 1920's in which the Marxists see life as a communial activity in which the "hive" sees all drones as equal and all thoughts and aspirations as a part of the collective. The Marxist seeks to imilate all others around him who are not a part of the collective, and make their individuality a part of his own collective conciousness, and thus imilate the individual into the collective making them a part of the m collective conciousness.
